Stock & purchasing

The purchasing and stock management module in CIM2000 supports the complete purchasing process for items, raw materials, tools and subcontracted operations. The system generates purchase proposals, supports the creation of purchase orders and allows deliveries and related remarks to be registered accurately.

Purchased items are divided into groups. Specific parameters can be defined for each group and used when creating an item. The item name can be generated automatically from these parameters or entered freely.

For each item, CIM2000 can manage information such as:

  • Description per language
  • Units, including price unit, purchasing unit and stock unit
  • Pre-calculation price
  • Standard sales price, with optional prices per customer or customer group
  • Standard purchase price, with optional supplier-specific prices
  • Discount scales
  • Technical characteristics, such as length, width, surface area and weight
  • Minimum order quantity
  • Status, for example raw material, item or product
  • Possible suppliers and purchase history
  • Stock information, including minimum, maximum and current stock levels and storage locations
  • Technical data sheets and quality information, optionally linked to labels and individual numbering
  • Document management

Stock may contain purchased items, raw materials and finished products. All incoming and outgoing movements are registered, making it possible to track when, how much, by whom and for which order material was moved or consumed. Stock can also be distributed across multiple warehouses and locations.

Different stock issue methods can be used, such as FIFO.

A stock control function helps identify rarely used items and optimise stock levels. The general filtering function also makes it easy to apply changes to groups of items, for example to adjust prices by a percentage.

When a production order is released, CIM2000 can automatically generate the necessary instructions for purchasing, including:

  • ordering items or raw materials;
  • ordering subcontracted operations;
  • replenishing stock items.

When defining the cost structure of a sub-order or quotation item, both stock materials and non-stock items can be included. For stock materials, either the stock price or a specially calculated cost price can be used.

CIM2000 manages the complete purchasing process, from price requests and purchase orders to follow-up and delivery. Both general purchases for stock and project-specific purchases can be managed. Price requests can easily be copied to other suppliers and converted into purchase orders.

Delivery-date monitoring and the project structure provide the purchasing department with a clear overview of outstanding and project-specific purchases. The bottleneck screen can also be used for daily monitoring of orders that require special attention.
