Project structure

In CIM2000, projects can be organised clearly in a tree structure. This keeps all information required to manage and monitor a project centralised and well structured.

A project consists of a main level containing the parts, products or assemblies to be manufactured or delivered. These can be further divided into subassemblies, keeping even complex projects clear and manageable.

For each part or subassembly, various types of information can be linked:

  • BOM (Bill of Materials) – an overview of all required materials, including both stock and purchased items. For length materials, the required length and quantity can be entered. For sheet material, length, width and number of sheets can be specified. This information also forms the basis for the purchasing process.
  • BOL (Bill of Labour) – all operations required to complete a part, including planned times and relevant production information. These data can subsequently be used for production planning.
  • Documents – drawings, technical data sheets, CAM programs and other documents related to the part. These can be viewed or printed both from CIM2000 and from PCs on the shop floor.

CIM2000 also includes a product generator. Using a macro language, complete product structures can be generated almost automatically based on questions, decision rules and formulas.

If the product structure is already available in a CAD system, it can also be imported into CIM2000 through bills of materials. This avoids duplicate data entry and improves the flow of information between engineering and production.
